Research project
Quantifying indoor airborne particle exposure through monitoring and modelling
Concern about air-pollution events has increased as extreme weather brings episodes such as thunderstorm particulates and bushfire smoke into cities. At the same time, the influence of buildings on occupant exposure during these events has not been well characterised in the Australian context.
This pilot investigation combines field monitoring with numerical modelling. The work is designed to contribute practical knowledge for building operation and to clarify when being indoors changes exposure to airborne particles.
